π€ v2.5 β THE TOGETHER UPDATE
π Hosting your world
- Tap π€ Play Together on the menu, enter your name, and hit Host my world.
- You get a five-letter room code β tell it to whoever you want to invite (out loud, by text, by carrier pigeon).
- Keep playing! Friends appear right in your world as they join. Up to 8 players in one room.
- The host's screen has to stay on β the room lives as long as the host does.
πͺ Joining a friend
- Same button β enter your name and the room code, tap Join.
- Their whole world arrives in a few seconds and you're standing in it, live.
- You can walk, fly, build, break, farm, talk to villagers β everything you can normally do.
π‘ The safety promise
Visiting never changes your own world. While you're a guest you play entirely inside the host's world, and your own world sits untouched exactly as you left it. Leave the room (or just reload) and you're home. What guests build lives in the host's world β the host's save keeps everything.
π§ You, in the world
Other players appear as blocky characters with their name floating overhead β and here's the fun part: if you've made a character in the NPC Maker, your first custom NPC is your multiplayer look. Crown, wizard hat, spiky hair β that's you now. No custom character yet? You get the classic blue-shirt look.
π¬ Chat
Press T (keyboard) or tap π¬ (touch) to say something β your words appear in a speech bubble over your head, just like the villagers talk.
π§ What syncs (and what doesn't yet)
Live for everyone: player movement, all block building and breaking, doors and gates, signs and their text, chat, and the host's time-of-day and weather.
Each player sees their own (for now): animals, villagers, water currents, and crop growth ticks. They stay close enough to feel shared, and the host's version is the one that's saved. Full creature-sync arrives with Survival multiplayer (v4.5).
πΎ And nextβ¦
Back to the roadmap: v3.0 β The Survival Update. Health, hunger, real mining, inventory, crafting, and tool tiers β as a brand-new world type, with Creative staying exactly as it is.
