An endless world made of blocks, with no rules and no way to lose. This guide is organized into clear sections — jump to any of them:

🚀 Getting Started

Blockwild is generated fresh from a random seed — rolling hills, mountains, lakes, and forests stretching on forever. New to it all? Tap 🎓 Tutorial on the menu; it walks you through your first minutes step by step, in both Creative and Survival.

1. Press ▶ Play. On a computer the game grabs your mouse — press Esc any time to pause and get it back.
2. Walk around. The crosshair in the middle is where you're aiming; a block outline shows exactly what you're pointing at (reach is about 6 blocks).
3. Break the highlighted block, or place the block in your active action-bar slot against it.
4. Your world saves itself every few seconds — just close the game when you're done.
5. 🌍 New World starts over with a brand-new random world (it warns you first).

🎮 Controls

Blockwild plays on anything — keyboard & mouse, an Xbox or PlayStation controller (even in the browser), or touch. Here's every control, split by device.

⌨️ Keyboard & Mouse

🎮 Xbox / PlayStation Controller

Plug in or pair a controller (Bluetooth works) on any device — computer, phone, or tablet, right in the browser. Press any button and the game greets you with a "🎮 controller connected" message. No apps or emulators needed.

📱 Touch (phone / tablet)

On a touch screen the game switches to touch controls automatically. Turn your device sideways (landscape) for the best view.

The bottom dock — 🎒 Inventory, 🧍 Character, 🔨 Crafting, 🗺 Map, ☰ Menu — opens windows. Drag a window's title bar to move it; tap ✕ to close.

🪟 Menus & Windows

v5.4 As of the Menu Update, your inventory, character, and crafting all live in draggable windows like a real role-playing game. Here's the short version — the full 5.4 guide has every detail.

Opening & arranging windows

• Press a key to open one: I Inventory, C Character, M the menu dock. On touch, tap the bottom dock.
• Open several at once — Inventory and Character together, for instance — and arrange them however you like.
• Drag by the title bar to move a window; close with ✕ or Esc (Esc closes the top-most one first).

🎒 Inventory — grab & place

• Tap/click an item to pick it up, then click a gear slot to equip it or an action-bar slot (1–9) to assign it.
• Double-click to auto-place an item in the best spot.
• Your action bar drives what you place and use in the world.

🧍 Character — dress your doll

• A slowly-turning 3D figure with 6 equipment slots: Head, Body, Legs, Feet, plus Main-Hand and Off-Hand.
• Your equipped Main-Hand now decides your attack damage — what you hold matters.
• Two-handed weapons (the bow) use both hands and lock the Off-Hand.

🔨 Crafting — pick a workshop

• Choose the right bench: Building / Tools / Weapons / Armor at a Workbench, Hearth for smelting, Alchemy at a Brewing Stand, Runework at a Rune Table.
• Walk up to a station to jump straight to it. Use search and "only what I can make now" to cut the clutter.
• Recipes you can't reach are locked with a hint telling you which station to stand near.

⛏️ Survival Basics

In a Survival world you'll manage health and hunger, gather materials, and craft your way up through five tool tiers. The essentials:

Mining

Aim at a block and hold the mine control (Left mouse / RT / ⛏). Everything breaks eventually — you can even punch wood with no tools — but the right tool is much faster. Better tool tiers (wood → stone → iron → gold → gem) dig quicker and unlock tougher blocks and ores.

Crafting

Open Crafting (🔨 on the dock) and pick a workshop, or open the classic pack with E. Tap any recipe you can afford. Big recipes need you standing near the matching station — a Workbench (4 planks) for most gear, a Hearth to smelt, a Brewing Stand for elixirs, a Rune Table for enchanting. See Menus & Windows above.

Eating

Activity drains your hunger; when it's low, your health stops regenerating. Keep food on your action bar and use it (Right mouse / RB) to eat. Cook raw meat at a Hearth for more filling meals, and farm crops and breed animals for a steady supply.

Combat

Monsters are off by default — Peaceful is ON, so nights are safe until you say otherwise (Menu → 🕊 Peaceful: Off, Survival only). When you do fight: your equipped Main-Hand weapon sets your damage, so keep a good sword or bow in that slot. Aim (LT) steadies a bow shot. Wear armor in your four gear slots to soak hits, and brew Elixirs or enchant with Runework for an edge.

🌍 The World

How big is it?

Each block is about 1 meter — one big step. From there the numbers get silly:

Every world is this big — and saves stay small, because only the blocks you change are stored.

Day, night & light

A full day lasts about 10 minutes: sunrise, a sun crossing the sky, an orange sunset, then a starry night with a moon. At night the world gets truly dark — that's what torches and lamps are for. Light spreads realistically from each source and fades with distance. Time only passes while you play, and it's saved with your world.

Creatures

• Cows, sheep, pigs, deer roam the meadows; bunnies bounce, goats climb the peaks, bats haunt caves, fish fill the lakes, chickens strut and cluck.
• A rare golden dog can be tamed — tap it with your place control and it follows you forever, saved with your world.
• Peaceful animals can be shooed (aim and use the mine control) but never hurt. At night a harmless glowing Night Wisp may drift nearby until sunrise.

Swimming & flying

• Water: you float and move slower. Hold jump to swim up, let go to sink. You can't break or place water itself.
• Fly mode: toggle with F / 🕊 / Y-△ (Creative). Hover, move fast, and use jump / sneak to rise and drop — perfect for building tall.
• Fall out of the world? You'll pop back to spawn unharmed.

☁️ Saving & Install

Saving & Cloud Save

On this device: your world, position, and time of day save automatically every few seconds.

In the cloud: tap ☁ Cloud Save and pick a player name and a 4–8 digit PIN. Your world then syncs while you play. To continue elsewhere, open the game, tap ☁, and enter the same name and PIN. The newest save wins, so finish on one device before switching.

Install as an App

• Computer (Chrome/Edge): use the install icon at the right end of the address bar. Runs in its own window, offline.
• Android: Chrome menu (⋮) → Add to Home screen → Install, or sideload the Android APK.
• iPhone / iPad: Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen. Launches fullscreen and works offline.

💡 Tips

• Use pick block (middle click / LB) while looking at any block to grab it instantly — faster than hunting through pages.
• Hold the mine/place control to dig tunnels or lay long walls quickly.
• Build with fly mode on: hover at roof height and place blocks without scaffolding.
• Torches are breadcrumbs — drop them as you explore to mark the way home.
• Keep your best Main-Hand weapon equipped in the Character window — it sets your attack damage now.
• Half-tilt the joystick or left stick to sneak slowly and line up precise placements.

❓ Quick Answers

The game updates itself — every few minutes it checks for the newest build and switches over on the menu. After each big update, a What's New popup shows the new toys and their controls.
